The ART of Recovery program incorporates creativity and healing activities into everyday life - in and out of the gardens.
Our Executive Director Kristin's goal when creating Killeen Creators was to have a building where staff and volunteers could conduct support groups and workshops for people recovering from Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder.
At our 10th St. art studio and clubhouse everyone is welcome to join us. From Tuesday through Saturday we offer a variety of artistic activities and classes that help promote healing in a safe, non- judgmental environment. You do not have to be an artist to participate in these groups.
We offer classes and meetups to the public which include arts & crafts, mindfulness, our veteran-led O.A.R. program, game nights and many more. These activities that we host help build social and coping skills, strengthen inclusivity, inspire creativity and create community. All of our classes are volunteer-led with assistance from AmeriCorps service members.
With your support we can sustain our mission to not only survive but thrive. We want to show that there can be significant hope and growth even after the most stressful life experiences. If you would like to donate to help our studio, please click here.
