Local artist and business owner paints new downtown mural

A local businessman and artist, Perry Draper, recently began working on a new mural for the downtown Killeen area.
Draper teamed up with Killeen Creators Community Art Initiative and the Downtown Revitalization Committee to begin working on the vibrant mural with his special design.
“We got a sneak peak of the rendering; you all are going to be blown away,” the Killeen Downtown Merchants Association said earlier this month on its Facebook page. “Be sure to stop by and snap a pic in front of the many art showcases in the area.”
As of Friday, the Herald could not get a hold of Draper, who owns The Art & More Store, but the mural seems to still be in progress at 200 North Gray Street in downtown Killeen.
The ongoing project uses a variety of colors ranging from peach, orange, sky blue and more colors waiting to be added.
“We will be sure to update you all through this process. I promise you’re going to want to see the end result,” Killeen Creators said on Facebook earlier this week.
The Art & More Store, 614 N. 10th Street in Killeen, has been operating in the area for around six years. The shop sells a variety of art supplies and accessories for any and all types of projects including canvases, brushes, tools, paper, storage items, pottery, craft supplies and much more.
To learn more about the shop and future updates on the mural go to myartandmorestore.com or the company’s official Facebook page at The Art & More Store.
